COVID 19 - IMPORTANT NOTICE - ACCESS TO CONSULAR SERVICES IN NEW BEDFORD

The Consulate of Portugal in New Bedford is following closely the situation surrounding COVID 19 virus and it is actively participating in the collective effort implemented in Massachusetts to prevent its spread in accordance with the recommendations of the American and Portuguese health authorities.

 

Within the spirit of this collective effort and seeking to enhance the protection of all Consulate’s visitors, we consider advisable to reduce the time spent in the Consulate’s public areas by a large number of people. Thus, the Consulate of Portugal in New Bedford temporarily suspends, from March 16 and until further notice, walk-in visits.

 

Starting March 16th, the consular services in New Bedford will be accessible by appointment only. For this purpose, please use one of the following options:

If you wish to pick up your citizen’s card, passport or visa, you do not need to make an appointment, however if it is not an urgent need and if it does not cause you inconvenience to postpone it, we recommend that you consider visiting us on a later date. The citizen’s card can be picked up during the first year counting from the issuance date and the passport until the end of its validity.
